About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Hydraulic Design Engineer to lead our team in Milan, Italy, in the delivery of a wide range of challenging infrastructure projects. As a key member of our infrastructure team, you will be responsible for technical design and delivery of site infrastructures, collaborating closely with multidisciplinary teams.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Take ownership of the design and delivery of technically demanding projects, working closely with clients and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Act as project lead, managing services and interfacing directly with clients.
  • Liaise with clients from feasibility to completion, assisting in setting and delivering design ambitions.
  • Assist in defining site surveys and testing to acquire site-specific data for design.
  • Develop site infrastructure design through design stages and permitting and procurement processes.
  • Be responsible for producing drawings, specifications, and reports to time and budget.
  • Manage supervision of civil construction works as part of the clerk of works team.
  • Assist in developing our Civil Engineering business through client meetings, bid documentation, and general business development activities.
  • Actively share knowledge across the team to deliver high-quality services to clients.

Requirements

  • Degree in Civil Engineering, with +5 years' experience in a consultancy environment.
  • Chartered professional status or in the process of gaining the qualification.
  • Strong civil engineering technical design skills in surface water, foul water, energy, roads, and carparks, earthworks, electrical, and fibre utilities.
  • Awareness of the Italian regulatory and planning framework, together with experience managing civil engineering projects through the planning process.
  • Ability to technically lead and manage the design process from conceptual layout to detailed design and construction.
  • Experience managing internal and external design interfaces, including architectural, structural, geotechnical, landscape, mechanical, and electrical.
  • Passionate about driving digital delivery on projects and keeping up-to-date with the latest industry developments around digital and BIM.
  • Experience leading and directing teams in a digital/BIM environment, coordinating civil services with other disciplines.
  • Proficiency in Civil 3D/Revit and other BIM software.
  • Knowledge of Navisworks and clash detection processes.
  • Knowledge of Hydraulic Modelling software.
  • Excellent written, verbal, presentation, and organizational skills.
