With over 60 years of history, our Business Unit represents the European hub in the supply of pumping systems for combustion engines and electric motors.

We operate mainly in the field of Vacuum creation, Oil cooling and lubrication, supplying major automotive companies and growing as a mechatronics business organization.

Our headquarters is the hub of RD, Production, Sales and related staff, totaling about 500 employees.

About the Role

To support the growth of the Company, VHIT Purchasing department is seeking a motivated candidate to cover the role of Commodity Buyer.

As a Commodity Buyer, you will:

  • Manage the metallic commodity (Aluminum Die Casting and Cast Iron parts) to ensure optimal procurement strategies.
  • Support the Purchasing Project Manager and Supplier Quality Manager during new component development, defining Commodity/Suppliers Strategy and handling supplier selection according to Total Cost of Ownership criteria.
  • Be the key point of contact for business, strategic communication and escalation with suppliers, including reporting to management in dedicated committees.
  • Assume responsibility for the commodity or material field, including supplier strategy and scouting, negotiation, business bundling, contracting, ordering and supplier database management.
  • Manage Change Management ECR for purchased parts applicable for multiple projects and introduce Design-to-Cost ideas for new or series projects.

Requirements

Education: Mechanical, automation engineering or similar academic background.

Experience and Know How: 3 years of experience in the automotive industry or similar experience in large organizations and complex project environments.

Technical knowledge: Basic knowledge of powertrain components; Basic understanding of the main automotive industry production processes; Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Powerpoint, Project).

Personality: goal-orientation and self-driven with entrepreneurial mindset, strong communication and team working skills.

Language skills: Fluent English.
