Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Software System Engineer to join our team in Agrate Brianza, Italy, supporting our customers in managing the software running in our high-tech equipment used for Microchip production.

Key Responsibilities

  • System Software Troubleshooting & Issue Resolution
  • Analyze reported problems and find issues through log file review
  • Develop and provide troubleshooting plans to discover the root cause
  • Deliver rapid resolution on systemic issues and validate solutions on equipment
  • Report found software bugs which cause issues and can lead to customer dissatisfaction
  • Interact with the software development group, provide all necessary information leading to a developed software fix
  • Software Installation & Imaging
  • Install and configure custom software applications on equipment system controllers
  • Apply base images to system controllers using applications such as Microsoft DISM
  • Develop and train team members on software installation procedures
  • Software Test & Validation
  • Build test plans for implementation of new software releases on production equipment
  • Document and perform first-of-a-kind installs using simulation for high-volume manufacturing equipment
  • Perform and validate customer scenario testing in a simulation environment
  • Software Support
  • Provide remote and on-site support at the customer's semiconductor fabrication sites
  • Listen to the customer and local team needs in terms of software requirements. Interact with the software development group for implementation
  • Support software activities on tools such as script implementations, anti-virus updates, backups, database activities, etc.
  • Support equipment connections to customer network and interaction with automation system
  • Support factory automation scenario testing and integration with customers
  • Participate in product design, testing, and documentation reviews as appropriate. Participate in user conferences and customer meetings as a software representative.

Requirements

  • Expertise in Windows environments (administrative activities, abnormal Windows behavior troubleshooting, etc.)
  • Expertise in Networking (network configuration, troubleshooting, etc.)
  • Ability to write scripts for repeated tasks on the system such as backups, deployment of software
  • Knowledge of SECS/GEMS Semi standards, virtualization using VMWare, and applying base images using Norton Ghost or Microsoft DISM is preferred

Education

Minimum required High School Diploma with experience. Preferably Bachelor's or Master's degree (Computer Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Automation Engineering)
