Job Description:

As a Field Service Technician at Oerlikon, you will be responsible for performing field service and repair work on our thermal spray coating systems, including peripheral devices, at our customers' sites. This role involves independent installations of new systems, commissioning, and training at customers, as well as maintenance and calibration of Oerlikon equipment products and their subcomponents.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Installation and commissioning of Oerlikon products
  • Preventive maintenance and calibration of Oerlikon equipment products and their subcomponents
  • Hard and software upgrades of Oerlikon equipment products and their subcomponents
  • Training of internal and external operators and maintenance personnel
  • Independent preparation for all field service activities
  • Support for Technical Customer Support (TCS) for hot-line phone support
  • Preparation of customer-oriented field service intervention documentation as service reports
  • Calibration and preventive maintenance reports
  • Notification of customers, management, and the internal quality department regarding equipment-related safety and security issues

Your Profile:

  • Electrotechnical or mechanical education
  • Good mechanical and pneumatic knowledge
  • Good knowledge of PC's hardware and software setup and network
  • PLC programming and software setup (a plus)
  • Technician/engineer education (a plus)
  • Intensive traveling to Oerlikon customers is required
  • Good business English speaking is a must
  • Good knowledge of PC work (MS-Office)
  • Open and strong personality with positive and supportive mindset and very good communication skills
  • Team-oriented behavior
