About the Role

Hitachi Energy is seeking a skilled supplier quality and development engineer to join their HUB Europe team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the highest quality standards in metal fabrication, working closely with suppliers to resolve critical quality issues and implement performance improvement activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate supplier qualification assessment forms and develop corrective action plans with suppliers.
  • Conduct supplier on-site audits, including assessment reporting and corrective action plan alignment.
  • Verify the effective closure of corrective action plan items by suppliers.
  • Participate in supplier sustainability audits and verify the closure of corrective action plan items.
  • Lead the production part approval process for new supplier parts and materials, including coordination of trial parts and first article inspection activities.
  • Lead non-conformity resolution processes with suppliers and ensure effective root-cause analysis and countermeasure implementation.
  • Monitor and consolidate supplier delivery and quality KPIs, as well as critical non-conformities escalated from factories.
  • Identify top concern suppliers within regions or categories.
  • Conduct Supplier Performance Evaluations for identified suppliers.
Requirements
  • 5+ years of relevant quality assurance, manufacturing, or supplier quality management experience in a production environment.
  • Strong understanding of quality and continuous improvement methodologies, including 8D, DMAIC, 5Why, A3, and Poka-Yoke.
  • Proven experience with process audits, APQP/PPAP, P-FMEA, Process Control Plan, and Statistical Process Control.
  • Experience in production processes or quality activities in metal fabrication, such as welding, painting, and plating.
  • Lean Six Sigma education and certification is preferred.
  • Familiarity with ISO-9001, ISO 5817, ISO 3834, ISO 15614, ISO 15609, ISO 14001, and OHSAS 18001 standards and external auditor certification is an asset.
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills, including leading remote meetings and workshops.
  • Ability to create a collaborative environment for accomplishing project objectives.
