Job Purpose

As a Plant Engineer, you will play a key role in ensuring the reliability and efficiency of our production and packaging lines. Reporting to the Technical Area Manager, you will be responsible for planning and managing maintenance activities, as well as collaborating with other business functions to maximize production line performance.

Key Accountabilities
  • Manage and implement investment projects under your plant's responsibility, collaborating with the Technical Development team to achieve project objectives.
  • Define the Investment Forecast (CAPEX) in support of the Technical Area Manager, evaluating sustainability and cash out of proposed projects.
  • Manage and update technical diagrams and drawings of new equipment and upgrading of existing ones.
  • Keep the registry of plant assets and machine lists updated on SAP, managing asset disposal.
  • Define preventive and predictive maintenance policies, improvement projects, and regulatory compliance of assets according to defined times and costs, in collaboration with other business functions.
  • Define spare parts to keep in stock for new equipment, guiding towards standardization and unification strategies.
  • Collaborate with the Production Manager, PPWM, and Maintenance Manager to define lines' downtimes for installation or start-up of new equipment.
  • Propose and realize innovation on plant assets.
  • In collaboration with the plant's Energy Manager, identify areas for improvement to reduce energy use and propose innovative solutions.
  • Keep and expand relationships with existing and potential suppliers, assessing services and offers to identify technological developments and new realizations.
Main Activities
  • Identify areas of improvement in plants and production or packaging equipment, looking for best technical solutions to maximize efficiency and reliability.
  • Ensure consistency between design phases and industrialization phase for new projects and continuous improvement.
  • Propose equipment improvements for existing assets and, in coordination with central Engineering, for investment in new lines.
  • Support in defining maintenance approaches.
  • Follow acceptance tests at suppliers.
  • Ensure support during installation, testing, and start-up of new equipment.
  • Represent the plant in new equipment/lines projects.
  • Promote collaboration between Plant and Central Engineering, supporting central Engineering in design phase of new equipment and participating in project groups from initial stages.
  • Gather and update all technical documentation of the plant (layout, technical documents, safety plan, etc.).
  • Manage orders for new equipment/installations in coordination with purchasing department.
  • Monitor use of resources (materials, direct and indirect manpower) through detailed governance of investment costs (RCA).
  • Collaborate with Plant Maintenance Manager in defining maintenance policies, supporting area managers in implementing them through standardization of tools and methods.
  • Ensure continuous monitoring of equipment performance, identifying critical areas and implementing intervention plans to maximize performance (preventive on condition).
  • Monitor and elaborate maintenance performance indicators to be shared with maintenance teams, focusing action and monitoring plans.
  • Coordinate and oversee start-up and ramp-up of new installations, implementing necessary technical training plans for production and maintenance employees.
Requirements
  • Master's Degree in Engineering or consistent experience in technical or maintenance matters.
  • Experience in similar project management roles min 3 years.
  • Familiar with construction sites (preferred).
  • Fluency in English both spoken and written (preferred).
  • Problem-solving attitude.
  • Planning and organization skills, working autonomously and flexibility.
  • Desire for growth and continuous learning.
  • Team working, proactivity attitude, and interpersonal and cross-functional skills.
