Key Account Manager Job Description

About the Role

BASF SE is seeking a highly skilled Key Account Manager to join our team. As a Key Account Manager, you will be responsible for selling Performance Materials in a challenging and competitive environment.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage a portfolio of large and complex key accounts, mainly with car manufacturers.
  • Provide technical support to customers and assist with new project requirements in collaboration with Technical Development.
  • Collaborate with marketing colleagues to monitor market trends and competitor activities at your customers.
  • Sell Performance Materials to a wide range of existing and new customers, regularly reporting progress to the business.

Requirements

  • A degree in engineering, chemistry, or a related scientific field.
  • Several years of proven experience in sales within the chemical business, mainly within the Italian market.
  • Experience in the chemistry & processing of Engineering polymers will be considered an advantage.
  • A valid driving license, as the role will involve travel throughout Italy and abroad.
