Job Description

Rockwell Automation is a global leader in industrial automation, and we're seeking an experienced Advanced Process Control (APC) Engineer to join our team.

Business Area

Our team has been delivering advanced analytics and model predictive control applications to customers worldwide for over 25 years. We integrate our software products with existing manufacturing systems to drive improvements in product quality, production capacity, and energy usage.

The Role

As an APC Engineer, you'll be part of a custom application delivery team that uses Rockwell Automation's advanced analytics and model predictive control products to create online applications that improve our customers' manufacturing processes. You'll assess the customer's process, develop mathematical models, and configure online applications to dynamically control product quality, production capacity, and energy usage.

Responsibilities
  • Perform technical project activities, including design, system integration, installation, data analysis, and application development.
  • Identify technical issues that impact project performance and provide solutions.
  • Support the Regional Technical Manager with project information and documentation.
  • Lead advanced analytics projects and mentor less experienced engineers.
  • Provide product, engineering, and application support to existing customers.
  • Perform system and application health checks, performance analyses, and develop reports.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in chemical engineering or a related field with a focus on modeling, statistics, or process control.
  • Strong interest in automation, process control, and advanced model-predictive applications.
  • Self-motivated with excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Experience in leading complex projects in a process industry.
  • Experience with instrumentation, industrial control systems, and supervisory control applications.
  • Experience with advanced process control implementation or business case development.
  • Familiarity with DCS (SCADA, HMI, etc.) and/or PLC configuration.
Desired Qualifications
  • 3+ years of experience in implementing advanced control solutions in a process manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in leading complex projects.
  • Experience with industrial computing, networking, OPC, and ODBC/SQL data communications.
  • Experience with DCS (SCADA, HMI, etc.) and/or PLC configuration, especially in the context of integration with external applications.
