Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and talented PhD fellow to join our research team in the field of microscale neuroelectronic devices. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on a cutting-edge project that aims to develop novel neuromodulation paradigms based on wireless, implantable, and MRI-compatible microbots devices.

Research Objectives

The PhD fellow will contribute to the development of micro-scale, fully-integrated devices to provide monitoring and modulation functionalities of neural activity with unprecedented levels of reduced invasiveness. The research activities will be carried out within the laboratory in tight collaboration with experienced researchers in CMOS circuit design, micro-/nano-structuring, and in-vivo electrophysiology, as well as in tight collaboration with researchers of the Crossbrain EIC project.

Requirements
  • MSc or equivalent degree in Electronic/Electrical Engineering, Bioengineering, or in Physics.
  • Background in microelectronics or microstructuring technologies.
  • Skills in programming with Matlab/Python/C++/C# or similar environments for data analysis.
  • Experience in electronic circuit simulations.
Desirable Expertise
  • Background in neuroscience.
  • Desirable expertise in biosensors and bioelectronics.
  • Background in neural interfaces.
  • Desirable expertise in (bio-)electrochemical sensors and electrochemistry.
