Validation Specialist

About the Role:

Serco is seeking an experienced Validation Engineer to join our international team in Frascati, Rome. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for the integration and verification of new evolutions of data processing software for the BIOMASS satellite mission.

Key Responsibilities:

• Review and analyze software technical notes and requirements.
• Develop and maintain test documentation and procedures.
• Coordinate and review unit testing activities and related documentation.
• Accept and evaluate software components.
• Execute and evaluate tests.
• Analyze software issues and collaborate with the Development team.
• Generate and maintain technical documentation.

Requirements:

• Engineering degree and at least 3 years of experience in system integration, validation, and verification.
• Software engineering experience.
• Good experience with Linux, Unix, and shell scripting.
• Good experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience with issue tracking systems and code version control systems.
• Knowledge of the ECSS standard.
• Experience in defining and maintaining user requirements for ESA's PDGS is an asset.
• Problem-solving skills.
• Good analytical skills.
• Ability to work under pressure.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and high degree of organizational and communication abilities.
• Proficient in English, both written and spoken.
• Knowledge of another EU member state language is an asset.
• Candidates must be eligible to work in the EU.
