Purchasing Coordinator Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Purchasing Coordinator to join our team at One Hour Heating & Air Conditioning. As a Purchasing Coordinator, you will be responsible for purchasing equipment and parts at the lowest possible prices and maintaining the warehouse, parts, and equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Issue purchase orders and properly designate costs to each department.
  • Purchase order status is kept current and properly marked as to which department they should be charged to.
  • Arrange for efficient deliveries of parts and equipment to Technicians.
  • Work closely with Dispatchers and the Operations Manager to make every possible effort to keep Technicians on the job working and not picking up parts.
  • Adhere to purchase order system, proper purchasing and inventory procedures and keep the inventory database current and accurate.
  • Replenish truck stock using the Technician Bin Restocking (TBR) System so that Technicians never make unnecessary trips for stocking.
  • Plan parts replenishment around work schedules.
  • Obtain parts lists weekly from Technicians to replenish truck stock used during the previous week.
  • Work with supply houses and maintain consignment inventory levels to make sure the shop has an adequate supply of all standard truck-stocked installation and service parts.
  • Count and value all serialized equipment on the last day of each month and report accurate results to the Administrative/Accounting Manager.
  • Count physical warehouse inventory monthly and report results to the Administrative/Accounting Manager.
  • Cycle counts trucks.
  • Process all warranty parts and warranty labor credits quickly, then follow through to make sure the company receives each credit quickly.
  • Organize all parts stored within the warehouse area, always keeping it neat and clean.
  • Forklift Operator Certified optional.
  • Obeys, teaches, and enforces the Code of Ethics, Team Rules, and Team Philosophy.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • Must possess industry and territory knowledge.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills required.
  • Must be self-motivated and results driven.
  • Must be detail oriented and well organized.
  • Track record of increasing responsibility with past employers in the same or similar industry.
