Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Transport Officer to join our team in Brindisi, Italy. As a key member of the Central Maintenance & Repair Cell, Delivery & Return Section, Supply Chain Service, you will be responsible for overseeing the transportation operations within a specific geographic area in a field mission.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement standard operating procedures for surface transport operations within a specific geographic area.
  • Supervise the preparation of performance reports, respond to internal and external audit observations, and coordinate requisition processes with purchasing authorities.
  • Ensure quality control/quality assurance procedures are implemented, and plans and work processes comply with established regulatory regimes.
  • Liaise with UN agencies, non-government organizations, intergovernmental agencies, and suppliers for the provision of surface transport support.
  • Collect and analyze data to identify trends or patterns, provide insights through data visualization methods, and enable data-driven planning, decision-making, presentation, and reporting.

Requirements:

  • A valid driving license is required, and technical or vocational certification in mechanical engineering, transportation, logistics, or a related field is desirable.
  • Experience working in the refurbishment of specialized vehicular equipment is desirable, and experience working in the United Nations or similar international organization in a conflict or post-conflict setting is also desirable.
