Key Responsibilities
Quality Leadership
Reporting Structure: Directly to Plant Manager and functionally to Quality Assurance Manager.
Role Overview:
The incumbent will ensure that the quality of products aligns with customer expectations and the quality objectives set by TriMas Corporation. This includes maintaining quality systems in accordance with ISO 9001 and BRC standards and spearheading continuous improvement initiatives.
Core Duties:
- Oversee the quality team at the manufacturing facility.
- Champion the EHS culture throughout the organization.
- Drive quality enhancements within the plant, focusing on scrap reduction and preventive quality measures.
- Maintain regular communication with customers and suppliers regarding quality claims.
- Facilitate the transition of new projects/products into serial production.
- Monitor, analyze, and report on quality metrics (KPIs) on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.
- Uphold standards of the Quality Management System.
- Develop and revise work instructions, quality alerts, and Quality Control Plans.
- Assist in resolving production and assembly challenges.
- Conduct periodic quality audits on production lines and manage action plans.
- Advise on the acceptance or rejection of incoming materials and components, implementing corrective actions as necessary.
- Collaborate closely with the Plant Management team to address quality issues effectively.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in a technical field.
- 3-5 years of experience in a Quality Supervisor or Customer Quality role.
- Proficient in English (advanced or fluent).
- Strong leadership capabilities.
- Ability to manage daily quality tasks and requirements.
- Open-minded approach to process improvement.
- Familiarity with quality and safety standards.
- Knowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC).
- Preferred experience with Lean Six Sigma methodologies.
Additional Skills
- Proficient in 8D, problem-solving, and quality tools.
- Competent in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Soft skills: accuracy, flexibility, reliability, teamwork, natural leadership, and analytical abilities.
