Hill's Pet Nutrition is seeking a highly skilled Thermal Process Scientist to lead our efforts in ensuring the safety and shelf-stability of low-acid foods. As a key member of our European S&T Group, you will be responsible for spearheading the development and optimization of thermal processes for food safety and quality.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Develop and implement thermal processing strategies to ensure food safety and quality.
- Conduct scientific studies, including heat penetration and thermal-death-time experiments, to inform process optimization.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align product design with manufacturing capabilities.
- Manage process deviations and ensure continuous improvement in product safety.
- Oversee project budgets and lead a team of dedicated professionals.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry regulations and quality standards.
**Requirements:**
- 5+ years of experience as a Thermal Process Authority.
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Food Science, Nutrition, Biological Sciences, Food Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong foundation in formula development and food science principles.
- Proven ability to design experiments, execute projects, and analyze data.
- Exceptional communication and leadership skills, with the ability to drive cross-functional collaboration.
- Proficiency in productivity and statistical software.
- Fluent in English, Italian a plus.
