About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Operational Excellence Manager to lead our efforts in Europe, specifically in Italy. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for driving continuous improvement and optimizing business processes to achieve better results.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement Lean strategies to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and costs
  • Lead the development of Operational Excellence (DOS) in dedicated plants, including Rivoli, Bari, Sommariva, Cervere, Luserna, and Arzignano
  • Provide leadership in Lean & CI initiatives, supporting and controlling plants in their CI & Lean cost reduction projects
  • Develop and implement training programs to increase awareness and knowledge of DOS
  • Support and plan DOS Assessments, Regional Jishukens, and other improvement projects
  • Lead and support plant policy deployment activities, builds sustainability roadmaps for assigned facilities, and leads DOS Academy activities
  • Develop and use appropriate business systems to successfully manage and control the Region regarding DOS, supporting the plants to meet/over exceed the CI targets
  • Responsible for overall planning and monitoring of projects to ensure targets are achieved within budget and on time
  • Lead and support DOS regional integration of new acquisitions and conduct, verify, and align DOS Assessments
  • Escalate if more support is needed
  • Implementation of strategic initiatives, develop skills and experience of plants CI Team Members, develop DOS knowledge in the Region, facilitate/support improvements projects, Jishukens, Kaizen Workshops, and leading Critical Plant supports activities
  • Build and lead high-performance teams by effectively supporting the recruiting process, motivating, and developing individuals in a strong team environment
  • Build organisational and talent development capability, including succession plans
  • Leading and supporting plants in developing a plan for Dana's Industry 4.0 plan, supporting regional implementation of our MES system, build and update new DOS training material, and align the rollout plan with Ops Directors, HR, and plants
Requirements
  • Candidates will be certified to degree/business engineering level, within a high-volume, automotive manufacturing environment, coupled with the ability to work as an individual or as part of a team
  • Previous experience of working more than 12 years as a LEAN/6Sigma leader in the Automotive industry
  • Strong understanding of Lean principles and have successfully led Lean transformation in a manufacturing and business process environment
  • Fluent in English plus minimum one other Local Language
  • Proven leadership and management skills within a challenging environment
  • Good knowledge of Lean tools and methodologies
  • Excellent communicator, both written and verbal at all levels in local language and English
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • Good computer skills, conversant with Microsoft office
  • Excellent motivator, self-starting, with an enthusiastic approach
  • Proven track record of successfully leading change initiatives, including experience implementing Lean from concept to full implementation
  • Motivated by results and strives to exceed expectations
  • Strong organisational, multi-tasking, and time-management skills
