We are seeking highly motivated and experienced researchers to join our team at the Center for Biomolecular Nanotechnologies in Lecce, Italy.

About the Role

As a researcher in our Multifunctional Neural Interfaces Research Unit, you will be working on the development of a new generation of multifunctional neural endoscopes based on novel metasurfaces. Your primary responsibility will be to contribute to the design, fabrication, and testing of these endoscopes, which will enable simultaneous high-resolution functional imaging of neural signals, label-free optical monitoring of chemical compounds, and optogenetic and thermoplasmonic modulation of neural functions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop hybrid metal-dielectric metasurface (HMS) neural endoscopes
  • Integrate organic electrochemical transistors on HMSs endoscopes
  • Develop methods for spatial-resolved multifunctional studies
Requirements
  • PhD in Photonics, Physics, Nanotechnologies, or related disciplines
  • Strong interest or previous experience in Neurophotonics
  • Documented experience in time-resolved measurements, pump and probe measurements, interferometry, wavefront shaping, and/or micro and nanofabrication of plasmonic or dielectric metasurfaces
  • Strong publication record
  • Ability to properly report, organize, and publish research data
  • Documented experience in coaching junior scientists
  • Good command of spoken and written English
