What you can expect from us...

At BurdaForward, our goal is to build a cutting-edge, modular, and end-to-end publishing framework that enables our company to write and publish articles on all our brands using one technology. This means that your code will have a direct impact on millions of unique users daily, requiring high-quality code in all areas, from speed to SEO and legal considerations.

  • You will work with a team building an extensible and modular publishing platform/framework that consolidates and runs all BurdaForward portfolio brands.
  • You will design the module architecture and develop features for the publishing framework.
  • You will onboard new brands and in-house development teams on the framework.
  • You will maintain and improve the code continuously.
  • You will help establish processes to ensure software quality and make it usable for others.
  • You will take responsibility for maintaining a high-quality framework.

What we expect from you...

  • You are skilled in building web applications and APIs using backend frameworks like Express.
  • You are comfortable writing code in JavaScript and TypeScript.
  • You have experience with cloud technologies like AWS Lambda, ECS, SQS/SNS, S3, or comparable services.
  • You like infrastructure as code using Terraform or similar frameworks.
  • You have experience with CI/CD and Docker or other container systems.
  • You have good knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases like MySQL, MongoDB, DynamoDB.
  • You have basic knowledge of testing applications with unit and integration tests.
  • Nice to have: Knowledge of frontend frameworks like VueJs, ReactJs, Angular, Svelte.
  • You have experience working in agile teams and enjoy collaborating with international and remote teams.
  • You have good English communication skills.
