Job Title: ELI - Avionic Subsystem Engineer

Job Summary:

Leonardo is seeking a highly skilled Avionic Systems Engineer to join our team in the Mission Management System department. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for the design, development, and qualification of Systems/Sub-systems required to manage, control, and monitor the Mission System sensors and equipment.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Define subsystem requirements starting from customer requirements and preliminary architecture definition
  • Develop and implement software requirements, design, development, integration, and validation of Mission Management Software running on real-time avionic computers
  • Coordinate and execute activities performed by team members, including analysis of input requirements, identification of design solutions, and planning and monitoring of program execution
  • Interact with internal departments, customers, and external suppliers to ensure successful project delivery
  • Manage and lead external personnel to deliver assigned Mission Management Systems on time, on cost, and on quality

Requirements:

  • Degree in technical field: Electronic Engineering, Telecommunication Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Information Engineering
  • At least 5 years' experience in Avionic System/Subsystem Design and Development
  • Good knowledge of Windows and Linux operating systems, with advanced skills on the latter
  • Good knowledge of Object-Oriented programming and C++ language
  • Planning, monitoring, and reporting of high-complex projects and programs
  • Leadership, team working, communication, proactive approach, and decision-making skills

Desirable Objectives:

  • Experience in software development and software V&V with reference to the DO-178C
  • Experience in Software Architecture, Networking interfaces, Digital Data Transmission, Video Compression and Encoding, AI and ML, Automatic Target Recognition, and Sensor Concept
