Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Senior Buyer for Direct Materials to join our procurement team. This role will involve direct reporting to the Procurement Manager and will be based at our headquarters.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
§ Expertise in managing supplier relationships for direct materials, including the identification and evaluation of potential suppliers, with a strong understanding of plastic manufacturing processes.
§ Capable of thriving in a fast-paced and evolving environment, particularly during periods of significant company growth and expansion.
§ Proficient in driving optimization and cost-reduction initiatives across the supplier base, while establishing comprehensive supply agreements.
§ Responsible for standard procurement metrics and functions: Negotiation, budget management, delivery timelines, payment conditions, total cost of ownership, quality assurance, and make-or-buy decisions.
§ Collaborate with planners within the department on operational tasks, such as purchase order issuance, while also providing support in managing delays and addressing supplier complaints when necessary.
Required Qualifications
· Education: Master’s degree in a relevant field (engineering or scientific disciplines preferred).
· Experience: Minimum of 5 to 6 years in a comparable position.
· Language Proficiency: Full professional fluency in both Italian and English.
· Ability to meet project deadlines and facilitate decision-making processes, contributing to integration efforts with affiliated companies.
· Excellent communication skills to effectively engage with internal stakeholders and promote best practices.
· Strong analytical mindset, risk assessment capabilities, economic insight, and results-oriented approach.
· Organized, inquisitive, and proactive with a solid problem-solving skill set.
