Position OverviewThis role is situated in our Milan office and will report directly to the Senior Manager of Procurement.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
As a Supply Chain Procurement Specialist, you will play a vital role in the development, enhancement, and management of various datasets to ensure that our negotiated tariffs are accurately integrated into the company's administrative workflows. You will assist Managers in carrier negotiations and work collaboratively with Operations, Finance, Legal, Quality, and Control teams to foster successful partnerships with our clients and carriers.
KEY FUNCTIONS INCLUDE:- Managing procurement administrative tasks such as tariff oversight, monitoring deviations from established tariffs, and providing guidance on tariff-related inquiries and disputes.
- Assisting with carrier compliance and contracting processes, including sourcing and document preparation.
- Conducting ad-hoc cost analyses to support pricing strategies.
- Tracking actual expenditures against budget forecasts and identifying savings opportunities.
- Supporting negotiations with carriers, particularly in preparing and analyzing RFQs.
- Generating periodic data reports for management review.
- Updating carrier scorecards monthly to facilitate the preparation of carrier quarterly business reviews.
- Contributing to process improvements to enhance visibility and traceability.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Google Sheets.
- Detail-oriented with a systematic approach to tasks.
- Able to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
- Willingness to work extended hours during peak periods, if necessary.
- Team-oriented with a strong commitment to achieving collective goals and delivering high-quality results.
- Educational background: Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, mathematics, or a related quantitative field.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar capacity, preferably within the logistics and distribution sector.
- Fluency in written and spoken English and Italian is essential; additional languages are a plus.
