Quantum Information Theorist

The ICTP Associateship Scheme is seeking a highly qualified postdoctoral researcher to join our team in the Quantitative Life Sciences section. We are looking for an outstanding scientist with a strong research record to work on a project related to the computational hardness of representation learning.

The selected candidate will be expected to carry out independent and multidisciplinary research in the broad area of statistical inference and theory of neural networks. This includes statistical mechanics, random matrix theory, information-theoretic and algorithmic aspects.

The appointment will be made for two years, with the possibility of renewal for up to one additional year. The net monthly salary ranges between 2100–2,700 EUR depending on seniority. • Conduct research in statistical physics and machine learning

• PhD in physics, mathematics or a related field
