Geotechnical Junior Engineer - Offshore

RINA is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Geotechnical Junior Engineer to join its team in Italy. As a key member of the Energy Engineering Solutions Division, you will be responsible for participating in offshore geotechnical investigations from initial planning to final reporting.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in planning and executing geotechnical site investigations at sea under the guidance of senior engineers.
  • Participate in field surveys and inspections to assess seabed geology, sediment characteristics, and geological hazards.
  • Aid in the analysis of geotechnical data collected during offshore shipboard investigations to characterize seabed conditions and geological formations.
  • Liaise with the geotechnical laboratory to prepare tests' schedules, follow up on laboratory progress, and quality-check certificates.
  • Learn to use geotechnical software and modeling techniques to analyze site data and predict soil behavior.
Requirements:
  • Master's Degree in Geotechnical Engineering or Geology.
  • Proficiency in geotechnical software tools such as PLAXIS, FLAC, GRLWEAP, or equivalent.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and communicate technical concepts clearly.
  • Adaptability and willingness to learn new geotechnical analysis methods and techniques.
  • Prior internship or co-op experience in geotechnical engineering or offshore energy industry is a plus.
