Senior System Engineer

The company, a global leader in hybrid packaging solutions of glass, plastic, and metal, is seeking a highly motivated Senior System Engineer to provide day-to-day support for its global server and network infrastructure. With over 100 years of industry experience, the company provides innovative packaging solutions to customers worldwide.

As a member of the Enterprise Engineering Team, the successful candidate will be responsible for project coordination, server operations, system and network provisioning, technical documentation, second and third level incident support, and ownership and responsibility of several key systems and applications.

The ideal candidate will be a professional focused on the design, engineering, and support of windows-based systems, with a strong proactivity in managing business critical tasks and emergencies. Key responsibilities will include:

• Providing technical leadership, research, and recommendation of new applications and processes to improve the productivity and profitability of the organization.
• Driving policies and implementation of key security initiatives.
• Maintaining Windows & Linux server environment, including deploying new servers, decommissioning servers, troubleshooting issues with existing servers, and assisting other IT groups with specific server related tasks.
• Deploying, maintaining, and upgrading virtual server environment, including converged, hyper-converged, and cloud-hosted systems and hypervisors.
• Patch management of Linux and Microsoft products.
• Responding to escalated support tickets and providing timely support to other IT groups.
• Working on IT projects and being able to see projects from planning stages to completion.
• Working with new hardware and software technologies and becoming a Subject Matter Expert (SME) as needed or delegated by manager.

The successful candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in a STEM field or equivalent experience and certifications, with at least three industry-related certifications required. Minimum of 8 years of IT-related job experience, strong IT consulting background preferred. Strong experience with disaster recovery design planning and implementation, high availability system design and implementation, VMWare environment, Citrix and VMWare Horizon, IaaS platforms and technologies, Microsoft Office 365 Migrations and tools, Active Directory, DHCP, DNS, Radius, migrations and integrations, telecommunications and network administration, Microsoft Server OS, SQL Server, and hypervisor administration, Cisco IOS Campus area networks, Cisco ASA or Palo Alto firewalls, Cisco Datacenter networking Nexus and Cisco UCS, Software Defined Networking, wireless network design and deployment, server and storage installation, administration, and management, Change Control Management policies and implementation standards, security tools, SIEM, EDR, Forensics, Threat Intelligence/Hunting, creating automated scripts and software, network and system security, SOX and PCI Compliance, problem-solving and analytical skills, ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, English professional proficiency, and multilingual a plus.

• Corporate Headquarters office.
• 10% - 15% travel; must possess valid passport for occasional international travel.
• Must have valid Driver's License.
