We are a leading provider of cloud infrastructure services, and our team is responsible for designing, planning, delivering, and operating all of our global infrastructure. We own the entire lifecycle of our data centers, from initial design to ongoing maintenance and operation.

Job Title: Engineering Operations Facility Manager

The Engineering Operations Facility Manager is a critical role that requires a driven, self-managed individual who demonstrates initiative and proactively seeks solutions to problems. This position is responsible for the management of all aspects of the performance of the data center infrastructure within a specific location.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Setting and Maintaining High Standards for Safety: The successful candidate will be responsible for setting and maintaining the highest standards for safety and actively promoting a world-class safety culture within the data center.
  • Managing Key Performance Metrics: The Engineering Operations Facility Manager will be responsible for managing key performance metrics for large-scale data centers across multiple AWS-owned and co-location sites.
  • Delivering 100% Uptime: The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering 100% uptime on all customer-supporting infrastructure.
  • Strategic Planning and Execution: The Engineering Operations Facility Manager will be responsible for strategic planning and execution of all corrective and preventative maintenance activities on all mission-critical infrastructure.
  • Managing Technical Teams: The successful candidate will be responsible for managing strong technical teams and ensuring operational excellence and career development.
  • Successful Project Delivery: The Engineering Operations Facility Manager will be responsible for the successful delivery of strategic projects on critical infrastructure.
  • Vendor Performance Management: The successful candidate will be responsible for managing vendor performance by consistently setting high standards and conducting regular performance reviews.
  • Critical Event Response: The Engineering Operations Facility Manager will be responsible for critical event response readiness, including planning and incident management.
  • Relationship Management: The successful candidate will be responsible for managing relationships between cross-functional teams.

Additional Qualifications:

  • 10 Years of Relevant Industry Experience: The successful candidate will have at least 10 years of relevant industry-related experience.
  • Electrical and Mechanical Competencies: The Engineering Operations Facility Manager will have demonstrated key electrical and mechanical competencies and theory.
  • Safe Electrical Practice: The successful candidate will have knowledge and apply safe electrical practice according to guidelines set by relevant electrical safety supervisory bodies.
  • Data Center Infrastructure Knowledge: The Engineering Operations Facility Manager will have a strong working knowledge and experience of data center infrastructure, including UPS and backup generator systems.
  • Network Design and Layout: The successful candidate will have fundamental knowledge of network design and layout, as well as low/high voltage cabling and monitoring systems.
