POSITION OVERVIEW
The IT Manager is responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our computer systems within established requirements, specifications, costs, and timelines. He/She oversees the implementation of our company's computing needs, supervising the management and maintenance of computer systems, printers, Internet connections, televisions, cabling, email/network accounts, audio/visual systems, and phone systems for the property.
The IT Manager is also responsible for maintaining all network domains associated with the hotel and ensuring connectivity for staff and guests. Key responsibilities include:
- Managing the day-to-day activities of the IT function to ensure maximum operating efficiency.
- Engaging vendors and IT teams to identify, diagnose, and resolve business systems incidents and problems.
- Developing and maintaining relationships with technical vendors, 3rd party business partners, and service providers.
- Ensuring service providers perform to service obligations.
- Ensuring compliance with all corporate policy and procedures, as well as legal requirements related to hardware and software installation, use, and licensing agreements.
- Installing and testing corporate approved program changes to the hotel computer system(s).
- Understanding all standards and customized features and functions of the hotel front office systems, point of sale systems, and other systems.
- Performing local systems backup to ensure all critical data is protected and functional.
- Ensuring that the computer room fire protection, temperature control, and power requirements meet the company security specification.
- Controlling all user IDs, passwords, and security parameters.
- Establishing documents, testing, and communicating emergency procedures to follow when the hotel computer system(s) are inoperable.
- Working closely with the Engineering department to ensure the proper maintenance of all in-room technology.
- Managing special projects as assigned by Management.
- Creating training programs and resources to educate staff on the utilization of IT systems and tools.
- Assisting hotel guests with technical requirements and issues.
- Adhering to Corporate IT instructions and providing reports on a timely basis.
- Ensuring that all critical systems are available 24 hours a day.
QUALIFICATIONS
The ideal candidate should have a Bachelor's degree in a field related to IT, with five years of experience in the field. Previous experience in hospitality is preferred. A good command of English and Italian, both verbal and written, is essential. The candidate should be fluent in a variety of software and hardware programs, with recent training and experience. Experience with phone systems, Wi-Fi hardware, and daily use of office tools such as printers and AV equipment is also required.
