About the Role

Hitachi Rail is seeking a talented Junior Structural Engineer to join our team. As a Concurrent Structural Engineer, you will be responsible for defining in-line test specifications, fatigue test specifications, data analysis, and data collection for next generation projects. You will also study repair solutions for problems emerged on vehicles in service and collaborate with project groups to ensure the development of assigned activity parts.

Key Responsibilities

- Define in-line test specifications and fatigue test specifications for next generation projects
- Study repair solutions for problems emerged on vehicles in service
- Collaborate with project groups to ensure the development of assigned activity parts
- Be the design referent for internal and/or external resources involved in the team that addresses the problems of vehicles in operation
- Verify new car and bogie projects
- Conduct concurrent engineering with the production and service department

Requirements

- Master of Science or technical degree in Mechanical or Aeronautical
- Minimum 2 years working railway vehicles projects in an engineering role as mechanical engineer, preferably structural fatigue and experimental data analysis
- Availability for short domestic and overseas trips

Desired Skills

- Basic knowledge of 3D modeling (in CREO), 2D drawing (CREO and Autocad) and FEA software, HBK Ncode, or similar software
- Basic knowledge of welding processes using in carbon steel, stainless steel and aluminum alloy structures
- Basic knowledge of structural fatigue
- Analytic approach

- Result orientation

Education / Qualifications

- Master Degree in Engineering (Mechanical is a preferential title)

Languages

- Knowledge of written and spoken English at least B2 level
