Job Description

Job Title: Infrastructure Inspector

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Infrastructure Inspector to join our team at the Nato Communications And Information Agency. As an Infrastructure Inspector, you will be responsible for leading, supporting, and managing military engineering inspections and surveys of Common Funded infrastructures and National infrastructures offered to NATO.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare, support, and conduct Operations and Maintenance Inspections (OMIs), Site Surveys (SSs), or Field Inspections (FIs) on infrastructures related to one or more designated operations area (Air, Land, Maritime, POL).
  • Process information and data resulting from OMIs utilizing Geographical Area of Infrastructure Activity (GAIA) Portal as well as other database systems.
  • Participate in joint formal acceptance inspections (JFAI) as required.
  • Provide Engineer advice and guidance on infrastructures.
  • Liaise with NATO Component Commands, NATO Force Structure Elements, and Host Nations to facilitate both development and monitoring infrastructure projects.
  • Provide specialist military engineer input to the operational planning process, supporting mission analysis with the resource and infrastructure developments plans required to support missions and operations.
  • Advise staff, host, and user nations on NATO Security Investment Programme (NSIP) common funded infrastructures.
  • Assist in the development of Common funded Capabilities (CFCs) in support of NATO planning for future capabilities.
  • Coordinate project screening and endorsement.
  • Participate in training exercises, providing Engineer augmentees for NATO exercises as required.
  • Assist with Environmental Protection responsibilities.
  • Maintain INFRA documentation up to date, including SOPs, SOIs, Manuals, dedicated databases, periodical reports, and web-page contents.
  • Liaise with SHAPE counterparts to ensure that relevant projects information are properly reported in PITT (Project Implementation Tracking Tool).
  • Support JFCNP Staff for the identification, definition, and development of operational requirements throughout the life cycle.
  • Enable the staffing and coordination across the HQ of administration products for all the NSIP procedures.
  • Prepare and deliver required NSIP documentation on behalf of JENG INFRA Section.
  • Monitor and report on the status of assigned and/or supported common funded projects.
  • Develop and maintain a sound understanding of NATO Security Investment Programme funding mechanisms.

Special Requirements and Additional Duties:

  • The employee may be required to perform a similar range of duties elsewhere within the organisation at the same grade without change to the contract.
  • The incumbent may be required to undertake TDY assignments both within and outside NATO's boundaries and be willing to work unsocial hours.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Education and Professional Experience:
    • University Degree in Engineering disciplines, and 2 years function related experience, OR, Higher Secondary education and completed advanced vocational training leading to a professional qualification with 4 years post related experience.
  • Experience with Environmental protection technology and qualified, trained, and experienced Military Engineer officer with extensive knowledge of Military Engineering and Infrastructure.
