About the Role

The Data Center Engineering Operations team at Amazon is seeking a skilled and experienced Facilities Engineer to join our team in Italy. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for deploying, operating, and maintaining our data center facilities, ensuring the highest standards of safety and security.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain and repair mechanical and electrical equipment, including diesel generators, switch gear, and building automation systems.
  • Perform root cause analysis of equipment failures and troubleshoot facility and rack-level events.
  • Ensure all safety procedures are adhered to while performing work.
  • Manage external vendors and collaborate with internal stakeholders to deliver operational excellence.
  • Participate in the delivery of build-out and retrofit of data center infrastructure.
Requirements
  • Good verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Apprentice/trades certified or diploma in an Electrical field and key electrical competencies (Practice & Theory) and knowledge of mechanical systems (Mechanical, HVAC systems, Controls).
  • Driving license valid in Italy.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 3+ years of experience in operations and on-call support for Data Center facilities or Mission Critical Plants/Production facilities.
  • An undergraduate degree in a technical field (EE, MechE, IndustrialE).
