Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Director to lead our Global Coastal Ocean Division. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all research activities within the division, developing a fundraising agenda, implementing and monitoring research projects, and collaborating with other division directors to ensure disciplinary integration.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a strategic plan for the Global Coastal Ocean Division
  • Oversee the development and implementation of research projects, including identifying priorities and coordinating with other division directors
  • Manage resources and budget allocated to the division, ensuring efficient use of funding
  • Manage human resources, including guidance, mentoring, and facilitating involvement, motivation, satisfaction, and growth
  • Collaborate with other division directors to ensure disciplinary integration and monitoring of project progress
  • Develop and maintain relationships with external partners and stakeholders
  • Ensure effective communication with the research community and society at large
Requirements
  • Strong focus on research objectives and a consolidated scientific network
  • Ability to coordinate and manage personnel, plan, organize, and supervise research activities
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience in fundraising and grant writing
  • Ability to work in a team environment and collaborate with other division directors

About the Role

The Director will report to the Institute Director and will be responsible for overseeing all research activities within the Global Coastal Ocean Division. The successful candidate will have a strong track record of research experience, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work in a team environment.
