**Job Title:** Senior Vehicle Mechanical Engineer

Hitachi Rail is seeking a skilled Senior Vehicle Mechanical Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience in mechanical engineering and a strong understanding of pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical systems.

**Key Responsibilities:**

  • Support and coordinate during the bid and project development of the technical design of the system.
  • Prepare system requirements specification of a mechanical system.
  • Analyze Suppliers' technical proposals.
  • Check the technical description of the system.
  • Verify drawings/documents (Electrical, Mechanical, etc.) for installation/integration on board.
  • Check FEM analysis report.
  • Prepare/verify performance test specification.
  • Support during system type tests.
  • Support during the on-board integration test.
  • Design review with Clients and Suppliers.

**Requirements:**

  • At least 5 years of experience in mechanical engineering.
  • Good knowledge of pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
  • Basic knowledge of electrics and mechanics.
  • Knowledge of main office automation software/tools (Word, Excel, etc.).
  • Knowledge of mechanical design software (Autocad, Creo, Catia, etc.) and the IBM DOORS requirements management tool.
  • Knowledge of Engineering Processes and Railway Operations.
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, fast-paced, multitasking international environment.
  • Ability to work autonomously in teams and for projects.
  • Availability for short-term national and international business trips.

**Education:**

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent technical background.

**Language:**

  • Good knowledge of written and spoken English is mandatory, with English language knowledge on at least B2 level.
