Job Title: Senior Marine Surveyor

RINA is seeking a highly experienced Senior Marine Surveyor to join its team in Genoa, Italy.

Job Summary:

The Senior Marine Surveyor will serve as a professional specialist, applying in-depth knowledge of maritime rules, regulations, and industry concepts. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting routine surveys on classed ships, offshore installations, or marine assets to ensure compliance with classification and statutory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct surveys on classed ships, offshore installations, or marine assets to ensure compliance with classification and statutory requirements.
  • Prepare technically accurate and timely reports of inspections and surveys.
  • Plan, schedule, and coordinate various phases of surveying work.
  • Monitor the quality of service and provide guidance to less experienced surveyors.
  • Engage with clients to solve problems within the area of expertise.
  • Ensure client satisfaction through effective communication and resolution of issues.
  • Provide guidance and training to less experienced surveyors.
  • Contribute to the development and improvement of the skills and knowledge of the surveying team.
  • Ensure the maintenance of quality, content, consistency, and continuity of work performed.
  • Uphold the highest ethical standards in all professional interactions.
Requirements:
  • Master's Degree in Naval Engineering.
  • Minimum 3 years' experience working as a Surveyor or minimum 6 years' experience in the engineering or inspection/survey fields with an IACS member Classification Society.
  • Understanding of RINA strategic technical positioning in the sector of the marine industry.
  • Proficiency in the English language commensurate with the scope of classification, statutory certification, related services, and future work.
  • Ability to develop a working knowledge of RINA Rules, Guides, statutory regulations, and related instructions.
  • Ability to understand engineering plans and have knowledge of shipbuilding practices and ship operations.
