Job Summary:

As a Sales Associate - General Merchandise Specialist with the Navy Exchange Service Command, you will play a key role in providing exceptional customer service and sales support to our customers. This position requires a strong ability to work as part of a sales team to provide service that exceeds customer expectations.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  1. Customer Engagement: Greet and engage customers in conversation to provide sales-related assistance, assist in the selection of merchandise, and suggest additional items to complement customer selections.
  2. Product Knowledge: Become knowledgeable about merchandise, including proper set-up, use, care, and characteristics of various products, as well as price points and warranty coverage.
  3. Store Operations: Ensure assigned areas are fully stocked and merchandise is neatly arranged, complete sales transactions efficiently, and thank customers for their patronage.
  4. Inventory Management: Unpack, stage, and move merchandise as assigned, complete paperwork associated with merchandise inventory movement, price adjustments, customer returns, and cash register operation accurately.
  5. Food and Beverage Convenience Bar Operations: (Applicable to Minimarts operating a Food and Beverage Convenience Bar) Open and close the Food and Beverage Convenience Bar, ensure all equipment is turned on during opening and turned off during closing, preheat and display products in heated display merchandiser, and ensure sufficient goods and products are readily available for customers.
  6. Food Safety and Sanitation: Monitor the temperature on refrigerators and freezers a minimum of 3 times daily, and may be required to attend a 4-hour food safety training session initially and an annual refresher thereafter.
Qualifications:

No experience required. High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
