Philanthropy Specialist

About the Role

The Philanthropy Specialist will play a key role in supporting the CMCC Fund Raising team in the creation and implementation of effective fundraising strategies to secure grants and donations from individuals, corporations, foundations, and other funding sources.

Key Responsibilities:

• Scouting: Identify new opportunities of philanthropic support for climate related research activities at national, European and international levels;
• Donor Engagement: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with existing donors while identifying and engaging potential new donors who are passionate about climate research;
• Campaign Management: Support in planning and executing fundraising campaigns, events, and initiatives that align with our organizational goals and resonate with our target audience;
• Grant Writing: Research and write compelling grant proposals and reports to secure funding from philanthropic organizations and government agencies;
• Data Management: Maintain accurate donor records and analyze fundraising data to inform strategies and measure success;
• Communications: Develop and deliver impactful presentations, reports, and communications that effectively convey our mission and the importance of supporting climate research.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have a Master's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Environmental Science, Non-Profit Management, Public Relations) and a minimum of 5 years of work experience in fundraising, either Trust or Donor fundraising, with a proven track record of securing significant gifts and grants in the non-profit or climate research sectors.

Exceptional proficiency in both written and spoken English is required, as well as strong communication skills, including the ability to write compelling proposals, reports, and presentations, and engage effectively with diverse stakeholders.

Proficiency in any additional language(s) is a plus, particularly Italian, Spanish, and French, which can help expand our global outreach and engagement efforts.

What We Offer

The Philanthropy Specialist will be based in Milan CMCC office and will have the opportunity to work with a talented team of professionals dedicated to supporting climate change research.

We offer a competitive contract and gross annual salary based on qualifications and working experience, as well as a welfare package for a minimum of 12 months contract, flexible working time as per internal policies, and support during the immigration process, if needed.
