Data Engineer - Wind Energy Forecasting

Randstad Technologies is seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Engineer to join our prestigious client's team, specializing in software development projects for wind power generation forecasting. This is a unique opportunity to leverage your expertise in data engineering and contribute to a cutting-edge SaaS platform that provides accurate day-ahead and intra-day wind production forecasts.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Data managing: Retrieving and securing store data from multiple sources and formats at regular intervals.
  • Data Processing: Developing and optimization of scalable data processing scripts using tools like Polars, Xarray, on distributed compute environments.
  • Data Monitoring: Building tooling for continuous monitoring and quality control of data using frameworks like Great Expectations.

Requirements & Skills:
  • 2-6 years of relevant experience in Data Engineering, ideally in the renewable energy or wind energy forecasting space.
  • BSc/MSc in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
  • Proven experience with large-scale data pipelines (TB-scale) in production environments.
  • Experience with Databricks and Github Actions.
  • Strong proficiency in Python, SQL, and Git.
  • Fluent in English, with the ability to travel for team meetings across Europe.
