Job Title: Buyer

Alstom is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Buyer to join our team in Rome, Italy.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a skilled Buyer to deploy commodities strategy with a focus on installation activities subcontracts in the Signaling and Infrastructure business. The successful candidate will ensure project execution in line with QCD objectives, pilot local contractual relationships with suppliers, and identify potential business synergies.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supplier Relationship:
    • Identify project and business needs
    • Prepare and launch Request For Quotation with suppliers using the standard tool
    • Negotiate cost reduction with suppliers
    • Provide inputs for order placement
    • Ensure QCD targets achievement, CONQ (Cost Of Non Quality) & claims management
    • Lead supplier QCD performance reviews
    • Manage initial issues before escalation to line manager
    • Respect Alstom Transport code of ethics and guidelines
  • Commodity Support on Site:
    • Consolidate commodity needs
    • Participate in commodity strategy and panel elaboration
    • Support Commodity Manager in tender phase
    • Represent commodities towards projects, platforms, and solutions
    • Effectively team with internal customers and stakeholders in problem-solving
    • Apply Alstom Sourcing processes and provide return on experience
  • Involvement in Projects/Tenders:
    • Closely work with sourcing project/tender representatives (Project Sourcing Manager, Tender Sourcing Leader)
    • Ensure work package commitment respect
    • Ensure QCD targets achievement
Requirements:
  • 3-4 years of Buyer experience
  • Strong negotiation skills in subcontracting
  • Knowledge of installations activities environment
  • Experience in Signaling and Infrastructure/Civil works companies is welcome
  • Bachelor's degree in Business or Engineering
  • Fluent English and international background is a must
  • Good interpersonal skills
