Key Responsibilities:
- Design of Mechanical and Plumbing Systems for various Civil and Industrial structures, adhering to guidelines provided by the Mechanical and Plumbing Specialist or Building Design Leader, while ensuring technical and economic optimization in line with budgetary constraints and timelines.
- Development of discipline designs in accordance with leading international standards (EN, NFPA, etc.) and compliance with Tecnimont's standards and operational procedures.
- Sizing and design of Mechanical and Plumbing equipment utilizing discipline-specific software, functional schematics, and technical specifications based on:
  • Calculations for heat loss, cooling loads, and heating requirements, along with pressure drop and psychometric charts.
  • Creation of schematics and layouts for HVAC and mechanical systems.
  • Selection and performance calculations for heating and cooling equipment (including pumps, fans, compressors, boilers, chillers) along with necessary documentation.
  • Plumbing design covering fire-fighting, water supply, and drainage systems, including piping layouts.
- Coordination and interface tasks across related Equipment disciplines and Architectural requirements based on design information.
- Preparation of Material Requisition (M.R.) and Work Requisition (W.R.) during proposal and detailed design phases, adhering to primary technical specifications and contractual requirements.
- Providing technical support in the preparation of bill of quantities during proposal, detailed design, and construction phases.
- Following up on client design reviews, offering support for technical clarifications, comments, and subsequent design modifications.
- Assisting the Mechanical and Plumbing Specialist or Building Design Leader with field engineering for technical process approvals, shop drawings, vendor material follow-up, and test and commissioning activities.
Personal Attributes:
  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent, with specialization in HVAC and Plumbing systems.
  • Proficient in English, both spoken and written.
  • Familiarity with main International standards for HVAC & Plumbing.
  • Experience in a similar role within the last five years.
  • Background in Mechanical & Plumbing design processes for various building types, including Control Rooms, Electrical Substations, Laboratories, and Process Buildings.
  • Field experience and confidence in working around Industrial Plant equipment and systems, particularly in petrochemical and oil & gas environments, is advantageous.
  • Experience collaborating with MEP Subcontractors.
  • Proficient in drafting tools (AutoCAD) and BIM Tools (REVIT, Navisworks), as well as HVAC and Plumbing design software (CARRIER HAP, REVIT integrated software like MAGICAD).
  • Knowledge of energy modeling and analysis for non-residential buildings.
  • Familiarity with green building rating systems (LEED or equivalent).
  • Team-oriented, self-motivated, with strong problem-solving and interpersonal skills.
  • Willingness to travel both domestically and internationally.
