Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Housekeeping Porter to join our team at our luxury hotel in Rome. As a Housekeeping Porter, you will play a vital role in maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene throughout the hotel.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure that all areas of the hotel, including guest rooms, corridors, lobbies, public areas, and back-of-house areas, are clean and tidy at all times.
- Perform daily cleaning tasks, including vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, and polishing floors.
- Dust and wipe surfaces, including furniture, fixtures, windowsills, and baseboards.
- Empty trash receptacles and replace liners as necessary.
- Clean and sanitize the changing rooms and restrooms, including toilets, sinks, showers, and countertops.
- Restock housekeeping carts with clean linens, towels, toiletries, and other supplies.
- Assist with the set-up of meeting rooms and event spaces.
- Respond to guest requests for extra amenities or services promptly and courteously.
- Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to the Floor Supervisor.
- Collaborate with other members of the housekeeping team and other colleagues to ensure efficient and effective cleaning operations.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in housekeeping in a 5-star luxury hotel.
- Familiarity with cleaning equipment and supplies, as well as proper cleaning techniques, equipment, and chemical usage.
- Good organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage effectively the shift time.
- Constant attention to details and strong commitment to maintaining cleanliness and hotel quality and hygiene standards.
- Flexibility to work different shifts, including weekends and holidays, as required.
- Physical stamina and ability to perform repetitive tasks, including lifting and carrying heavy objects, standing, bending, and kneeling for extended periods.
- Good communication skills to interact with guests, colleagues, HODs, and supervisors in a professional and courteous manner.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Good knowledge of health and safety regulations related to housekeeping operations.
- Ability to communicate, understand, and follow instructions in Italian and English.
- Legal right to work in Italy.
