As a Senior Staff Application Engineer at Marvell Technology, you will be part of the ODSP team within the Connectivity Business Group. This team develops advanced products supporting industry leading solutions for the growing datacenter, enterprise, optics, and AI application.
Your role will involve working with multi-disciplinary teams from analog, software, firmware developers, and PCB designers to develop hardware platforms, write device drivers, and scripts to fully validate leading edge products. You will be involved in complex lab testing, hardware bring-up activities, and all facets of the prototype process including PCB fabrication and assembly.
You will support internal or external teams on system level debugging, analyze bring-up, debug, and characterize silicon level Marvell's internal IPs such as High-Speed SerDes for various Marvell products. You will evaluate and debug new features in PHY, develop driver firmware, collect performance data, and resolve application and production issues including Ethernet and PCIe products.
You will provide direct technical support to top-tier customers and work with them to review designs, discuss questions, and help tune performance to meet system requirements. You will develop and execute bench-level validation test plans, develop scripts in Python, VBA, MATLAB to automate testing. You will generate appropriate test reports and write application notes.
You will also provide technical support to customers for resolving all technical issues and furnishing collateral documentation related to technical matters. You will act as a primary technical interface between the company and customers. You will qualify design activity at the customer engineering level and participate in the definition of new products and the identification of niche areas that present new opportunities for Marvell.
We are looking for candidates with a Bachelor's or foreign equivalent degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering/Science or related technical field and five (5) years of experience in the job offered or related occupation. A Master's degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering is preferable.
Candidates should have strong fundamentals of communication, transmission lines, EM, and microwave theories. They should be able to generate test scripts in Python, VBA, MATLAB or other languages. They should have experience in debugging using equipment like Oscilloscope, TDR, VNA, Logic Analyzer. Bench analysis using equipment like BERT or AWG is a plus.
We estimate the salary range for this position to be around $150,000 - $200,000 per year, depending on location and experience.
