Barilla Group is seeking a highly skilled Global Pasta Packaging Development Sr Technologist to join our team.
Job Purpose:
To lead the development and implementation of innovative pasta packaging solutions, focusing on consumer needs while achieving a balance between quality, environmental responsibility, and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and industrialize new packaging solutions based on existing and available technologies, starting from consumer and customer needs understanding and applying a design-driven approach.
- Ensure developed packaging solutions protect recipes throughout the product's shelf life, meeting logistic and distribution channel requirements for primary and secondary placement, while enhancing packaging sustainability.
- Collaborate with project leaders and other departments to deliver projects according to quality and industrial standards, within defined costs and timing.
- Lead packaging projects through the Phase and Gate process.
- Design to Value projects: identify opportunities to maximize the company's profitability, ensuring customer and consumer expectations are met, working closely with other functions.
- Supply security: work with colleagues to establish stable supply for films and ensure backup plans are in place.
- Develop and manage new and existing packaging material specifications, communicating with internal stakeholders and suppliers.
- Coach junior team members on technical requirements.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Food/Packaging Science-technology, Engineering, Chemistry, Industrial Chemistry, or related fields.
- At least 5 years of experience in packaging (design, development, industrialization, quality & fs, sustainability, engineering, etc.) in FMCG companies.
- Experience with AutoCAD or drawing software.
- Fluent Italian and English; French/German knowledge is a plus.
- Strong communication, negotiation, assertiveness, team building, and strategic thinking skills.
