Camera Shader Operator

The Villanova University Athletics Department is seeking a highly skilled Camera Shader to join its Game Production team. Located in Villanova, PA, this position offers an exciting opportunity for freelancers with experience in camera operations to contribute to the production of live games.

As a Camera Shader, you will be responsible for setting up, operating, and breaking down the camera shading station, as well as assisting with the setup of all camera equipment associated with a game production script. Your work will be under the direction of the Villanova Athletics Marketing/Operations staff and Athletics Building Engineer.

Key responsibilities include:

• Collaborating with the Game Director and Building Engineer to set camera look and shading for all cameras, both robotic and manned, in coordination with the game script.
• Selecting, assembling, and positioning equipment (cameras, stands) throughout the venue.
• Maintaining, cleaning, and testing all equipment and cameras to ensure they are in good working order each day before events start.
• Participating in pre-event coordination planning meetings.
• Familiarizing yourself with event production language and technology.
• Ensuring the safety of equipment at all times.
• Respecting standards and regulations regarding audio equipment safety and applying safe work methods.
• Providing support and assistance to other venue areas as needed.

This role requires a strong understanding of camera operations and experience working in live game productions. Proficiency in using studio production equipment such as Hitachi Hd6000 and Hitachi RCP is essential. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are also required, as you will be working collaboratively with a dynamic team.

We offer competitive salaries based on experience, ranging from $60,000 to $80,000 annually, depending on qualifications. This non-exempt position involves flexible working hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
