United Way of Collier and the Keys is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Community Impact Director to lead our efforts in managing programs and volunteer engagement strategies. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for establishing the organization as a leading community mobilizer and driving impactful change in our community.

Key responsibilities of this role include:

  • Overseeing internal programs such as VITA, the Community Investment Grants process, and other assigned programs in Collier and Monroe Counties.
  • Developing and managing a comprehensive database of volunteer opportunities, providing support and training to volunteers and partnering agencies, and creating strategies to engage the community and corporate partners in volunteerism.
  • Coordinating volunteer mobilization and management during disasters, ensuring effective management of volunteers and programs, and continuous improvement and significant community impact.
  • Supervising Community Impact staff as assigned, managing all aspects of the VITA program, including recruiting, training, and managing volunteers and tax site logistics, and coordinating with the IRS to ensure all requirements are met.
  • Managing the Community Investment Grants process, including recruiting and managing volunteer committees, supporting nonprofit partners, managing the grant application and award process, annual reporting, and evaluation of results.
  • Overseeing and supporting other programs in both Collier and Monroe Counties as assigned, developing and maintaining effective systems to track program data, demographics, and progress, and regularly evaluating program effectiveness and impact for continuous improvement.
  • Supporting communication of community impact priorities, recommendations, and needs via written reports, monthly meetings, and other strategies as needed, and assisting in the content development for communications related to programs.

This role requires a strong understanding of complex organizations of commensurate size and scope, experience in program management or related areas, and a proven track record of managing large groups of volunteers. Additionally, disaster response experience is highly preferred.
