About the Role:

  • Drive the supplier management cycle, identifying and validating new sources, managing performance, and implementing corrective actions as needed.
  • Develop and execute strategies to build a strong working knowledge of market conditions and suppliers, product offerings, and manufacturing processes.
  • Lead cost reduction and continuous improvement projects to meet or exceed standard cost targets, purchase price variance goals, quality targets, and service levels.
  • Select procurement methods to maximize flexibility and minimize acquisition costs and risks.
  • Negotiate pricing and terms for mutual benefit, document agreements, and monitor performance.
  • Resolve delivery, quality, service, and cost issues through problem-solving and supplier performance improvements.
  • Assist in eliminating non-value-added steps in the supply chain.
  • Identify, evaluate, and develop qualified suppliers both domestically and internationally.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain, Materials Management, Procurement, or Engineering, with 2+ years of sourcing experience, preferably in Mechanical components or Chemicals.
  • Excellent project management, analytical, organization, and negotiation skills, with the ability to manage complex tasks and prioritize multiple projects.
  • Demonstrated ability to plan, prioritize, and complete work within established timeframes, adapting to changing business environments.
  • Ability to drive results, manage multiple priorities, and adapt to changing business environments.
  • Experience in dealing with distributors and production suppliers, developing and launching new suppliers/projects.
  • Able to evaluate suppliers' processes and capabilities, managing and solving complex topics related to Supplier Management, Continuation of Supply, and Savings initiatives.
  • Familiarity with ERP Software (preferably SAP) and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access).
