Job Summary

Conti Federal Services is a leading global construction and engineering company that has delivered complex projects for the U.S. federal government. We are seeking a skilled CAW Mechanical Technician to join our team.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Demolishing mechanical systems as required for renovation projects.
  • Fabricating, installing, and insulating ductwork onsite.
  • Laying out and installing fire protection piping.
  • Designing and installing hydronic piping systems.
  • Installing Variable Air Volume (VAV) systems, Fan Coil Unit (FCU) systems, and Variable Refrigerant Flow (VRF) ceiling cassette systems.
  • Laying out and installing chillers and Air Handling Units (AHUs).
  • Installing split-pack refrigerant systems.
  • Testing and balancing air systems and aligning and balancing equipment.
  • Using various hand and power tools safely.
  • Complying with all safety standards and regulations of USACE EM.
  • Inspecting, troubleshooting, and testing mechanical systems and equipment.
  • Installing physical security requirements (man-bars, expanded metal) per ICD/ICS 705.
  • Constructing and installing RF Shielding & STC Mitigation equipment/materials per ICD/ICS 705, UFC, and Best Practices Guideline For Architectural Radio Frequency Shielding.
  • Collaborating with other trade technicians on project sites.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A bachelor's degree, OR;
  • An associate's degree plus 4 years of recent specialized experience, OR;
  • A High School degree and 8 years of recent specialized experience.
  • A current DoD Security Clearance or the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Security Clearance is required. Security Clearance Requirements – must be a US Citizen.
  • U.S. Federal government experience is required.
  • Experience completing complex construction projects and dealing with different variables of a project.
  • Extensive knowledge of various areas of construction for trades coordination.
  • Working knowledge and implementation of ICD/ICS 705 and UFC.
  • Working knowledge of the Safety Requirements of USACE EM.
  • Exceptional teamwork, communication, and people skills.
  • Proficiency with renovations and new construction projects.
  • A valid 10-year passport with at least 2 years of remaining validity and/or a valid 4-year passport with at least 2 years of remaining validity is preferred.
