Job Summary

Hitachi Rail is seeking a skilled Project Manager to lead projects in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will have experience in project management, excellent organizational and leadership abilities, and strong client-facing skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate project teams, allocate responsibilities, and deliverables in accordance with company processes and project scope of work.
  • Define and gain approval for business requirements, process modeling deliverables, project plans, and charters.
  • Manage client relationships as the focal point for technical and administrative project issues.
  • Review and estimate project cost, including spare parts, labor, and third-party costs, and project timing based on scope and complexity.
  • Control and manage project P&L in terms of budget costs, revenues, margin, and invoices.
  • Support commercial departments in assessing and delivering new commercial initiatives/variation orders.
  • Support procurement in working with subcontractors to obtain proposals for project work.
  • Manage subcontractors' performance in accordance with contractual SLA (Service Level Agreements).
  • Track, develop, and create release calendars for project implementation.
  • Track each project schedule and create a project plan.

Requirements

  • Solid experience in project management in a medium/complex multinational organization.
  • Proven experience in project management environment with managerial role.
  • Outstanding organizational and leadership abilities.
  • Strong client-facing skills and ability to keep track of and report on activity.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Flexibility in travels within the country.
  • Understanding and compliance with all Environmental, Safety, and Health (ES&H) programs and procedures.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP or IPMA) certification is a plus.
  • Able to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • A high level of competence with Microsoft Office, excellent PowerPoint, and Excel skills.

Desired Skills

  • Good knowledge and technical background in rolling stock.
  • Experience in planning maintenance operations.
  • Solid understanding of technical aspects in railway environments and technology.
  • Contract management skill set.

Education and Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in Engineering or Technical matters.
  • Good knowledge and ability in understanding, writing, and speaking English language.
  • Other languages will be an important plus.
