Role Overview

The Sales Manager will be the key point of contact for clients and provide pre- and after-sales advice. They will liaise regularly with other members of the sales team, within the country and worldwide, and colleagues from various departments, including research, development, design, production, and quality.

Responsibilities

  1. Develop and reinforce partnerships with key OEMs and Operators in assigned territory (Italy).
  2. Client relationship management, taking care of the long-term relationship with the client through managing and interpreting their requirements.
  3. Identifying and establishing after-sales business opportunities, searching for new applications that might benefit from company products or services, and maximizing client potential.
  4. Ensuring that sales targets set by the head of the Division are met.
  5. Organizing sales visits and frequent business travels (60%).
  6. Monitoring the market share of Voith and the competition.
  7. Identifying new market opportunities and projects both in new business and in aftermarket, reporting and following them up with the company CRM.
  8. Negotiating offers and contract terms and conditions to meet both client and company needs.
  9. Closely working with sales support which calculates client quotations and performs sales administration.
  10. Providing pre-sales technical assistance and product education, and after-sales support services.
  11. Preparing reports for head office using the company CRM.
  12. Making product presentations and demonstrating how a product meets client needs.

Requirements

  • Self-motivated, sociable with customers and colleagues, full of initiative, and a good team worker.
  • Strong presentation skills and able to communicate professionally in written responses to emails and when submitting reports.
  • Organized and analytical, able to eliminate sales obstacles through creative and adaptive approaches.
  • Knowledge of both Italian and English languages is a must, as well as basics of mechanical and electrical engineering.
  • 4+ years relevant experience in the bus business.
  • Experience in sales.
