Contract and Claim Risk Specialist

At Siemens S.p.A., we are seeking a Contract and Claim Risk Specialist to support our Rail Infrastructure business in Milan, Italy.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for evaluating and preparing contracts in compliance with Italian law, ensuring timely and efficient contract analysis and evaluation. They will work closely with the Project Manager and Legal department to guarantee effective negotiation until contract closure.

Key activities will include:

  • Providing clear contractual analysis and advice to project teams on matters concerning contractual obligations, contract risk, and claim management in collaboration with the Legal department.
  • Managing daily commercial and contractual issues as the key focal point and owner for all activities carried out within the contract package.
  • Interacting with clients, contractors, and suppliers in close collaboration with the Project Manager.
  • Ensuring risk mitigation.
  • Preparing the financial aspect of variation negotiation with Commercial.
  • Reviewing incoming correspondence prior to issue to the client and drafting official correspondence.
  • Providing support to the Procurement Department in negotiation of Subcontracts and Purchase Orders.

Requirements:

  • Professional experience in the same role, with a preference for experience in the Railway sector.
  • Understanding of contract risks and potential legal and financial consequences.
  • Excellent knowledge of Italian Commercial, Civil, and Public Procurement Law in Italian Multinationals or Multinational Branches based in Italy.
  • Knowledge of general contractual standards.
  • Experience in working on major complex projects and risk appraisal and claims management.
  • Analytical, communication, and influencing skills.
  • Use of independent judgment and creativity in resolving contract claim issues.
  • Internal and external negotiation skills.
  • Proficiency in Italian and English, German, and/or Spanish is a plus.
  • Passion for continuous growth and learning.
