About the Opportunity

Elettra-Sincrotrone Trieste, an international multidisciplinary research center, seeks a Postdoctoral Research Associate to contribute to the EIS-TIMEX beamline. As a key member of the team, the successful candidate will work closely with the coordinator and staff to achieve reliable and efficient user operation, develop the instrument, and explore diverse scientific cases requiring sub-ps time resolution.

Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality support to external users of the beamline.
  • Develop a research program contributing to in-house research activities and result dissemination.
  • Establish new research collaborations and submit proposals to suitable funding agencies.

Requirements

  • Ph.D. in Physics, Chemistry, or a related discipline.
  • Up to 6 years of postdoctoral experience in academic institutions or private companies.
  • Background in experimental methods for FELs/synchrotrons or table-top lasers, supported by a publication record commensurate with career advancement.

Desirable Qualifications

  • Programming skills in Python or Matlab, including interfacing of instruments.
  • Demonstrated ability in computational physics or data processing.
  • Use and maintenance of high vacuum experimental set-ups.
