Recreation Assistant

This is a NAF (Non-Appropriated Fund) position assigned to the 31st Force Support Squadron at Aviano AB, Italy. The successful candidate will be part of a dynamic team responsible for the operation and maintenance of sports activities and facilities.
Duties and Responsibilities- Performs and/or assists in the operation and maintenance of sports activities and facilities.
- Ensures all fields and sports venues meet safety requirements directed by FS/SE, Consumer Products Safety Commission.
- Performs field maintenance and set-up, including dragging, mowing, lining, and watering fields.
- Recommends equipment for purchase to sustain and maintain safety standards.
- Follows game and activity schedules, as well as the rules and regulations to be observed.
- Types of duties include accurately and timely filling out incident/accident reports, monitoring practices and games, maintaining referee/umpire contractor logged timesheets, and maintaining set-up and clean-up procedures according to policies and procedures.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- This position requires the incumbent to complete a background investigation with favorable results.
- This position requires satisfactory completion of pre-employment checks in accordance with Air Force and DoD policy, and a Child Care Tier 1 background investigation.
- This position has physical lifting requirements, which require the incumbent to complete a favorable pre-employment physical.
- This position requires the incumbent to be able to obtain, maintain, and provide evidence of current immunizations, including annual influenza vaccinations, and be free of all communicable diseases.
- This position requires the incumbent to possess or maintain a valid state driver's license to operate vehicles.
- This position is subject to a pre-employment drug screen and random testing thereafter.
- This position requires the incumbent to follow environmental safeguards and wear personal protective equipment.
