trash adv is seeking an experienced Market Access Director to play a crucial role in driving the company's strategic objectives in Italy.

About the Role

This is a critical position that requires a deep understanding of the local, regional, and global payer and market access environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and delivering Italy's HEMAR strategic objectives and plans, ensuring adequate resourcing, in alignment with patient needs, business priorities, and Janssen's strategy to be a transformational medical innovator.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Negotiation and Partnership: Proactively develop and deliver Italy's HEMAR strategic objectives and plans, ensuring adequate resourcing, in alignment with patient needs, business priorities, and Janssen's strategy to be a transformational medical innovator.
  2. Strategic Guidance: Play a strategic role at operating company level setting and providing guidance aligned with EMEA strategy.
  3. Regional Leadership: Lead regional access team to ensure accelerate access across all regions.
  4. Industry Representation: Serves as company representative at national industry trade associations on market access matters.
  5. Pricing and Reimbursement: Overall accountability for price negotiations/discussions with national and regional payers at country/cluster level as well as implementing pricing policies for Janssen's portfolio of products in the country/cluster.
  6. Global Collaboration: Represent Italy in discussions with PRIT and Global Pricing and Access Committee (GPAC) if required.
  7. Capability Development: Accountability for building industry leading capabilities in the country/cluster that anticipate evolution in the healthcare environment and changes in the company portfolio mix.
  8. Talent Management: Strengthen capabilities in the operating company, supporting the local team to develop professionally through leadership responsibility for the HEMAR academy and by fostering developmental opportunities for key talent.
  9. New Capabilities: Focus on building new and strategically important capabilities in key functional areas.
  10. Management Board: Active and influential member of the operating company Management Board.
  11. Business Planning: Accountability for market access input in business planning processes (e.g. BP, MTP, etc.).
Regulatory Affairs Responsibilities

The position is also responsible for overall management of the Regulatory Affairs Department and all regulatory activities including ensuring compliance to support and grow the business in line with the company goals. This includes:

  1. Team Management: Management of the RA Team.
  2. Marketing Authorizations: Obtain and maintain marketing authorizations.
  3. Product Launches: Ensure fast introduction of new products and line extensions including new indications.
  4. Health Authority Relations: Maintain and support communications with Health Authorities and third parties.
  5. Regulatory Compliance: Ensure regulatory compliance.
  6. Process Streamlining: Streamline regulatory activities with other internal business partners.
  7. Regulatory Environment: Influence regulatory environment through external stakeholders.
Qualifications
  1. Education: University degree in Business Administration or related discipline.
  2. Specialization: Focus on Health Economics or Healthcare Management preferred.
  3. Advanced Degree: Advanced Degree or MBA preferred.
Experience & Skills
  1. Demonstrated Experience: 8+ years' of demonstrated experience in healthcare environment, preferably pharmaceutical industry or related consulting services, sufficient to have developed a deep understanding of the local, regional and global payer and market access environment.
  2. Italian Market Expertise: 5+ years of experience in Health Economics, Market Access and/or Pricing & Reimbursement in Italy.
  3. Negotiation Skills: Proven experience in negotiation with local authorities or HTA payer.
  4. Project Management: Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects involving complex processes, significant budget, competing deadlines and rapidly shifting priorities in a compliant manner.
  5. Collaboration: Ability to partner with key members of commercial, medical, regional, global and other relevant teams constructively.
  6. Talent Attraction and Development: A proven ability to attract and develop talent and build class leading organizational capabilities and support future succession needs.
  7. Execution Mindset: An 'execution mindset' focused on getting things done quickly and simply.
  8. Matrix Organization: Skilled in functioning within a matrix organization.
  9. Communication: Excellent oral and written in both Italian and English communication skills.
  10. Interpersonal Skills: Strong interpersonal skills and evidence of teamwork in a matrix environment.

We offer a competitive salary of €120,000 per annum, commensurate with experience, along with a comprehensive benefits package including health insurance, retirement plan, and generous paid time off.
