Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Commissioning Engineer to join our team at HITACHI ENERGY ITALY S.P.A. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading commissioning activities on projects with low to medium complexity, ensuring efficient and cost-effective completion in accordance with contract specifications, quality standards, and safety requirements.
Key Responsibilities- Commissioning Planning and Implementation
Contribute to the planning and implementation of commissioning activities, supporting and coordinating installation activities with the Installation Supervisor/Site Manager. Implement commissioning design changes and provide mark-ups for as-built project documentation.
Proposal Creation and Contract ManagementAssist in creating proposals for engineering projects, including provision of bills of materials and estimated engineering hours. Support Contract Managers in issuing claims, new scope of work, cost impact, time impact, risk quantifications, etc.
Risk and Opportunity AssessmentConduct risk and opportunity assessments during the commissioning phase to ensure implementation of the commissioning plan, identify and report potential risks related to contract/quality/program/cost, and recommend resolutions to management.
Site Activity CoordinationCoordinate site activities focused on finalizing customer acceptance certification, identify and recommend new effective solutions to meet business and customer needs, and provide relevant information pertaining to commissioning assignments and meetings with customers.
External Organization ManagementManage external organizations to ensure availability of commissioning equipment, systems, or services, provide relevant information pertaining to commissioning assignments and meetings with contractors/colleagues, and give feedback to the organization to apply lessons learned process.
Safety and Contract ComplianceUse standard processes to ensure all commissioning activities comply with required safety regulations and contractual requirements, apply and improve processes and tools in one's technical area to ensure effective project delivery.
RequirementsEducation and Experience
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical/Electrotechnical Engineering or Technical Diploma; 6+ years of experience with control and protection systems is nice to have.
Language and Skills
Good knowledge of English (B1/B2); ability to work in a team and problem-solving; availability to travel between Italy and Europe (90%).
